A Ministry of Missionary Ventures International

It seems like every mission trip we take to Kenya has so many events we could write a book for all that has taken place on this trip. Our recent trip in August (8/16/11 – 8/31/11) we could write two books! Of course the challenge is to put it all down on one page but that would just be the outline. Our focus was to fulfill our agenda. We knew we were going into a mighty spiritual battle and saw the Devil was wreaking havoc among our missionary colleagues and African leaders. We know God always wins and this battle will be won as well, but there are many wounded or led astray by the enemy. There are many others struggling against the enemy as well. Our challenge at times was to bring a warning to the church, like Paul did when he preached about division in the church. This was probably the toughest part of our trip which is occurring in three villages we have been ministering in for 15 years now. Personally for me to see this happening breaks my heart, and I can only imagine how it must break the heart of Jesus! Our African Pastors who are affected by what Satan is trying to destroy are grateful for our prayers, support and encouragement. We met on many fronts to offer prayers and Biblical based ways to overcome each situation. We cannot be specific as to individuals or organizations involved as we will not be judgmental. Anyway; they, are not the enemy. The real enemy is Satan, using them or those that are blinded by the darkness. We come in trusting that God’s light (His Word) will battle these situations and bring hope for the hurting.

The other stops were far more joyful. We heard testimonies of the women and children who are receiving sewing machines and training. They are praising God for these gifts.

Gail led a Post Abortion Facilitator Training for 15 women, who will be ministering to women who will be forgiven and set free. This ministry seemed to blossom on this trip. It was the nurturing kind of ministry that smoothed over the rough ground we were facing elsewhere. She ministered at the Nairobi Youth for Christ Pregnancy Center while I went to the Children’s home in Keserian to check on our sewing machine inventory, meet with the staff and loaded machines and fabric for the remainder of the trip. I am so excited to see Gail’s ministry with these women in action and how this training is making a major impact. Thanks to New Life Solutions for donating the manuals and materials that were provided for us to bring them and, of course, for their prayers and support.
